Shared mobility is emerging as an option to make getting around during Pride Barcelona easier, particularly for journeys home after the main events.
Barcelona will once again host concerts, cultural activities and the Pride march on 18 July, an event that will bring together thousands of attendees and require a major mobility operation, with public transport the main way to reach the city centre.
Taxis, private hire vehicles and smart shared mobility as alternatives
For return journeys, taxis, private hire vehicles and shared mobility solutions can complement public transport. According to WAIIS, events of this kind encourage more people to share journeys to similar destinations, helping to reduce congestion and travel costs.
The platform lets users enter their destination and travel time, and say whether they are travelling as a driver or passenger. The algorithm then identifies compatible journeys and suggests a meeting point to help users coordinate.
