The algorithm automating private car-sharing like Cabify or Uber

Waiis uses artificial intelligence to automate private car-sharing, connecting drivers and passengers with compatible journeys. Its technology analyses mobility habits to find matches, coordinate meeting points and make trips easier, aiming to cut travel costs by between 30% and 60%.

Waiis uses artificial intelligence to connect people with compatible journeys and make car-sharing easier, reducing costs and making use of empty seats in vehicles.

Rising fuel prices and low vehicle occupancy have increased interest in shared mobility. According to DGT data, between 80% and 85% of cars carry just one person, adding to congestion and emissions. Against this backdrop, Waiis aims to turn vehicles already on the road into a shared mobility network using artificial intelligence.

“Mobility footprint”

Waiis has developed its own technology to analyse travel patterns, identify compatible journeys and automate the search for matches, meeting points and trip coordination.

According to Paulo Gómez, Waiis co-founder and CEO, the aim is to simplify the car-sharing experience and bring it closer to the way on-demand mobility platforms work.

A cushion against rising fuel costs

Waiis estimates that sharing a vehicle can cut travel costs by between 30% and 60% by splitting expenses such as fuel, tolls and parking.

As well as saving money, the platform can increase vehicle occupancy, from an average of 1.7 people in a private car to nearly four on shared journeys.

The cultural barrier and trust

To strengthen safety, Waiis includes identity verification and tools to check the driver or passenger’s location and estimated time to the meeting point. Having validated its model in corporate settings, the startup is continuing to expand and promote shared mobility that is simpler, more efficient and more accessible.
